Trust is the boot state you can read, not a seal on the box. Check it when the device arrives, after any update, and after any time the handset has been out of your possession.
The registry check
The public check at Verify asks whether CODES LTD has a provisioning record. The purchase code on the handover card is the warranty credential. Present the IMEI and that code, and a match can confirm that warranty and free support are in force. If the code is missing, mark it as missing. That check is paid, it asks only whether the IMEI is listed, and it does not include warranty or free support. Neither answer replaces the boot-state check below.
What you are looking for
A normal power-on with verified boot intact, and no warning that the bootloader is unlocked or that the system image failed verification. The exact screen is shown in the handover notes that travel with the device. Compare what you see with that note, not with a screenshot from the internet.
Stop if
- The boot state warnsUnlocked, orange, or a verification failure means the chain is not the one that left provisioning. Do not enter the passphrase on that boot if you can avoid it. Power it down.
- The interface changed without an updateA new prompt for an account, a new certificate, or a request for the passphrase from an app that did not ship is a reason to stop, not a reason to comply.
- Someone else set it upIf the device was unlocked by anyone other than you, treat it as unverified until the boot state is checked and the passphrase is replaced on a boot you trust.
When you stop, contact CODES LTD on the channel from your invoice. Do not send the passphrase. Do not send a photo of an unlocked screen. Say what the boot indication showed, and wait for instructions.
