Platform overview

What ThetaSecurity OS is, how it relates to GrapheneOS, and the layers it adds.

Contents

ThetaSecurity OS is a complete mobile operating system for Google Pixel 8, 9, 10, and 11. It is built on the GrapheneOS hardened codebase and carried much further. It is not a stock ROM with a security app installed on top, and it is not GrapheneOS with a few settings changed. The detection engine, the on-device AI, the vault, the tripwires, and the mesh layer are part of the signed system image. They are verified by Titan M2 at every boot like the rest of the system.

Why a hardened base matters

Features bolted onto a weak system inherit its weaknesses. An app that watches for spyware is useless if the spyware can corrupt memory and take the system before the app runs. ThetaSecurity OS starts from a base where memory corruption faults in hardware, the boot chain is anchored in silicon, and telemetry is removed. Everything else is built on top of that.

The layers

  • CamouflageStock Pixel boot animation, themes, and interface. Nothing on the outside marks the phone as a security device.
  • Hardware trust and memoryTitan M2 root of trust with a locked bootloader, ARMv9 Memory Tagging Extension, hardened_malloc, and a zero-telemetry base with Google Play Services telemetry, diagnostic logging, and cloud reporting stripped out.
  • Theta SentinelAn offline small language model that reads system events, explains them in plain language, and warns about operator mistakes before they become leaks.
  • Live detectionBaseband downgrade detection for IMSI catchers, a Tor and VPN tunnel watchdog, and AppOps auditing of camera, microphone, and clipboard access.
  • Zero-knowledge checksk-anonymity breach scanning and an on-device DNS sinkhole with an offline Bloom filter.
  • Elite defensesHoneyfiles and canary tokens, a post-quantum vault, mesh emergency broadcast, and side-channel shielding for motion sensors and microphones.

Who it is for

Journalists, executives, lawyers, activists, and anyone whose conversations, location, and contacts are already treated as targets. The design assumes an adversary who can buy commercial spyware, stand up a false base station, or take the phone at a border. Each article in this section describes one layer, what it does, and where its limit is.

No phone makes compromise impossible. ThetaSecurity OS closes the paths that real attacks use, tells you when someone tries one, and helps you avoid the mistakes that undo the rest. The safety rules still apply.
